Our mission

Puffin Ridge Co. is more than an independent label. We tell the story behind it: about the puffin, its role in the marine ecosystem, the threat posed by rising ocean temperatures, the decline of the sand eel, and all the invisible connections that determine a species' survival. Knowledge is the first step to action.
Our products are made from mostly sustainable materials using a print-on-demand process. This means: No overproduction, no storage, no waste. Each piece is made only when you order it.
The puffin - our mascot - reminds us of why we do this. These little seabirds represent what we want to protect: a wild nature that thrives.
Puffin Ridge Co. was brought to life by nature lover and journalist Julia Mähler.
FAQ
We believe in transparency. Here's how we work — and why.
Why does shipping take 5–10 working days?
At Puffin Ridge Co., every product is only printed once an order is placed — made to order, not made in advance. That means no overproduction, no unused stock, no waste. It takes a little more time. We think that's a fair trade — and we hope you do too.
What exactly is Print-on-Demand?
Print-on-Demand means products are not produced in advance but made individually for each order. For us, it's a conscious choice: we only produce what is genuinely needed — avoiding overproduction and wasted resources.
Where are the products made?
Our products are printed in Germany, near Cologne. Short supply chains, high quality standards — and no unnecessary transport across the globe.
Why do you ship in paper bags instead of plastic?
Because plastic doesn't belong in the ocean — and that starts with packaging. We consciously use paper shipping bags, even though they cost us a little more as a seller. A small step that matters to us.
What materials are the products made from?
Most of our textile products are based on blanks by Stanley/Stella — a European manufacturer committed to organic cotton, fair working conditions and GOTS certification. Natural materials that are comfortable to wear — and that last longer than cheap alternatives.
What do you mean by "buy less, use longer"?
We are not a fast-fashion shop. Our goal is to create products that people truly love — and therefore use for a long time. One hoodie that lasts years is better than three that end up in landfill after a season. Protecting nature starts in your own wardrobe.
What does "1% for seabird conservation" mean?
With every purchase at Puffin Ridge Co., 1% of revenue goes to organisations dedicated to protecting seabirds and their habitats. We believe a business can be more than just a seller — it can actively give something back.
