Tailwinds for Seabird Protection
We are now officially supporting the Jordsand Association
Exciting news: Since this week, it's official – we are now proud supporters of the Jordsand Association! This means that from day one, exactly 1% of our revenue goes to the association.
If you're new here: Puffin Ridge Co. is a small, sustainable label from Munich. We create hand-illustrated designs featuring puffins, other seabirds, and other endangered species – telling their stories along the way. The Jordsand Association therefore perfectly matches what we stand for.
Because this support strengthens our mission: to protect nature and endangered species, to impart knowledge in various ways, and to encourage people to take action themselves.
Seabirds like the puffin are symbolic of an ecosystem under pressure – from the decline of their prey fish to plastic pollution and rising sea temperatures. Every contribution helps to secure their breeding colonies and habitats in the long term.
A few key facts about the Jordsand Association
The non-profit association is involved in numerous exciting projects:
- Founded in 1907 – making it one of Germany's oldest bird protection associations
- Focus: Seabirds, marine mammals, and their habitats along the North and Baltic Sea coasts
- Manages over 20 protected areas in Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony, and Schleswig-Holstein
- Educational work & nature tours that make nature conservation tangible and encourage action
- Monitoring and research projects for species protection as a basis for international conservation measures
We are incredibly happy to accompany the Jordsand Association on its journey – and to contribute a small piece to the protection of our seabirds with every puffin design.
